In his Pedigree Analysis, in the April 2005 issue of Illinois Racing News, Alan Porter wrote:

                 The question as to how Animo de Valeroso would have faired on the racetrack is destined to be unanswered [he was injured as a foal when his dam rolled on him], but he certianly had the pedigree to be a runner, and it's also very much a stallion's pedigree.
